Milpitas, CA – February 7, 2022 – Quantum3D, based in Silicon Valley, CA, and Orlando, FL, a leading developer and manufacturer of real-time visual simulation systems, has completed a custom Brazil terrain database for a major aerospace company.
Quantum3D’s experienced 3D modeling and terrain development team has created the entire Brazil landmass, with all the requirements set by the customer successfully completed before the expected delivery date.
This contains a Level D compliant high fidelity airfield, Sao Pedro Da Aldeia, with 1-meter high resolution imagery within a radius of 5 Nautical Miles (NM) from the center of the airfield and 5-meter resolution for the remaining area up to 10NM. This airfield also contains several detailed geo-specific buildings which are surrounded by geo-typical buildings and trees.
In addition, Mantis Global Airports plug-in provides the customer flexibility with training at any other airfield that has lower fidelity requirements.
The Brazil terrain database is created in the industry standard OGC CDB format. This enables the modification of run-time databases within minutes or hours instead of days or weeks and provides enhanced re-useability.
With the completion of this project, Brazilian pilots will be able to train using a new state-of-the-art terrain database of their country.
