MANTIS Update- Quantum3D has further extended the capabilities of its Global Airports plugin

Milpitas, CA – January 6, 2022 – Quantum3D, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of real-time visual simulation systems, has further extended the capabilities of its Global Airports plugin for its Mantis Visual Simulation software platform. This plugin uses the crowd sourced X-Plane airport data to generate detailed runways, taxiways, light points, and taxiway signage for around 30,000 airfields worldwide. It also has the ability to enhance select airports by adding generic or custom buildings such as terminals, hangers, etc. Within Mantis, these airports can be used both with OGC CDB format terrains and proprietary MNP format terrains.

The new time-saving features for the plugin take advantage of additional data introduced in recent versions of X-Plane and include:

  • Automatic population of static aircraft at gate locations.
  • Automatic population of jetways at gate locations.
  • Automatic population of airport ground support vehicles such as baggage carts, fuel trucks, aircraft tugs, and catering trucks.
  • Support for red, orange, blue, and green taxiway and apron markings.

These new features now provide a much richer and realistic visual representation of these airports. Quantum3D customers have access to a library of 30,000 airfields worldwide including many Level-D and thousands of 3D models.
