Quantum3D Awarded Contract by AVC Defense to Upgrade Royal Saudi Air Force Bell 412 Helicopter Simulator

Recently Announced Simulator Modernization Program is Employed to Add Years of Useful Life to Existing, Aging Training Device

Milpitas, Cal. – April 17, 2018 – Quantum3D, Inc., a leading provider of training and simulation solutions for government and commercial applications, today announced that it is under contract with Advance Vision Company Ltd of Saudi Arabia (AVC Defense) to upgrade and modernize an existing Unit Training Device (UTD) for Bell 412 Helicopters operated by the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). The upgrade is intended to extend the useful operating life of the simulator by many years with a cost-effective solution over a new replacement.

The upgrade will include replacement of the simulator host computer, visual system including image generator and displays, visual database, instructor/operator station (IOS), and audio system. Existing cockpit displays and controls will be rewired, tested, and refitted. The visual system upgrade will feature Quantum3D’s IDX 80 Image Generator running MANTIS®.

“RSAF pilots deserve and expect the highest quality training and outstanding service”,” said Yusuf Cruz, Strategic Planning Director at AVC. “With Quantum3D’s unique and flexible approach to simulator modernization, we will provide a training experience that meets or exceed the RSAF’s stringent requirements.”

“We are excited to serve AVC and RSAF with the benefits of our Modernization Program,” said Clayton Conrad, President and CEO, Quantum3D. “Our customers have made significant investments in their existing training devices, and our offering allows them to maximize their return on that investment while continuing to provide pilots with the best training possible.”

Each simulator is unique. Quantum3D’s team assesses the current technical state of each simulator and understands the training intent of that Simulation Platform. A recommended Simulator Modernization proposal may include newest generation projectors to improve resolution and brightness, new Image Generators to improve the visual experience of the training environment, a new IOS for introducing new training challenges, new cockpit instrumentation for greater quality and more. New hardware installed in the Simulator Modernization Program comes with up to 3 years of warranty and up to 10 years of guaranteed reparability to give users comfort that their simulator will provide for their training needs for years to come. All modernization services are provided by Quantum3D’s team of experienced technicians who are available to upgrade any simulator type, at any location worldwide.
